A suspicion of harm occurs when you have a reasonable suspicion that a child has suffered, is suffering, or is at an unacceptable risk of suffering, significant harm.
A suspicion of harm exists if:
- You believe a child is displaying behavioural, emotional or physical signs of abuse.
- You notice the presence of suspicious injuries.
- You have other reasons to suspect that a child has been harmed or may be at risk of being harmed.
- Someone else tells you that they think harm has occurred or will occur.
